Instituto Cervantes Presents Eduardo Mendoza: The Writer Under the Radar

Eduardo Mendoza is above all a great story teller. Born in Barcelona, he moved to New York City where he worked for ten years at the United Nations and where he published his first novel The truth about the Savolta case to great critical acclaim.

Eminent novelist, Mendoza is known for his simple yet profound prose, his acute awareness and wit. The touch of humor he introduced into the detective novel unleashed a new era of storytelling in Spanish literature. His unique voice has resonated with fans across trnaslations. He is the latest winner of the Cervantes Literature Award 2017 and will join us to discuss his literary career. This will be his only appearance in New York City.
