Gonzalo Moure Wins the Cervantes Chico Award 2017

On July 12, 2017, the jury of the Cervantes Chico Award 2017 met and agreed to give its XXI edition prize to Gonzalo Moure "for the extraordinary literary quality of the whole of his work and for his broad and brilliant professional career" as well as "his varied creative capacity in the theme of his writings and his important work to promote reading, which makes possible a strong connection and closeness with younger readers.

In addition, his commitment to bring culture, books and reading where there is no possibility, credits his social commitment to the most disadvantaged.

Gonzalo Moure was born in Valencia in 1951. He has two major facets: literary, with a prestigious career in the world of young adult and children's literature, and solidarity, with his involvement in humanitarian projects. He has received multiple awards, from the Children's Literature Prize 1996 Steam, to the Prize for Literary Creation of the Book Fair, Reading and Cultural Industries of Castilla la Mancha in 2012.
