Thanks to the joint reading organized by the "Books to Read" blog and thanks to the Duomo publishing house, I had the opportunity to read "La lógica de la luz" by Cristina Cassar Scalia, the second installment in the series of books starring Deputy Commissioner Vanina Garrasi.
Last year, I had the chance to read "Arena negra," the first installment in the series, and I already enjoyed it a lot. I found it to be an entertaining story with great characters that draw you in, and it had a dose of the best classic crime novel. So, I didn't hesitate to sign up for this new reading, and I really enjoyed it.
Two men are fishing with a lantern when they notice someone on the shore struggling to drag a suitcase and throw it among the rocks. The next day, Deputy Commissioner Vanina receives an anonymous call from someone claiming to have witnessed the murder of a girl in a beachside villa. Both cases appear to be related, and Vanina will have the invaluable help of retired police commissioner Biagio Patanè in solving them.
