Hypothermia is a fragmentary novel comprised of seemingly unconnected stories, but whose common denominator is the shocking and strange way which the narrator shifts his gaze over environments and situations which are equally fractured and inapprehensible. In part a product of his stay in the capital city of the United States, this effective exercise dissects the characters and antiheroes of everyday life, thereby allowing Álvaro Enrigue (1969) to deploy the narrative tools and instruments of the efficient and impassive scrutinizer of existences and ruins.
