Lou Carrigan, the Spanish giant of popular novels

One of the authors who most successfully cultivated the popular novel genre. Lou Carrigan, pseudonym of Antonio Vera Ramírez, is one of the most successful authors who cultivated the popular novel genre.

Lou Carrigan wrote everything from detective novels, adventure, espionage and horror, war, martial arts (he was a black belt in judo), science fiction, westerns and even romantic novels.

He was very prolific, with more than 1000 titles in his long career. In addition, his direct, simple and easy style stories were able to connect with a wide audience, from young people to adults.

Born in Barcelona in 1934, he worked professionally in banking, but his true vocation was in writing. In 1962 he left his job at Banesto and devoted himself entirely to it. He chose a very popular genre at that time, which was the short novel, or to be more precise, the paperback book, a genre that had no other pretension other than to entertain readers.
