‘Balún Canán’ will be the novel with which the centenary of the Mexican author will be celebrated through the traditional reading marathon on April 23rd.
Everything is ready for the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) to remember Rosario Castellanos on the 100th anniversary of her birth -May 25, 1925- with its traditional read-aloud marathon. On Wednesday, April 23, FIL will celebrate World Book Day with a reading of the novel “Balún Canán”, one of the Mexican author's most emblematic works.
Rosario Castellanos was a poet, playwright, essayist, novelist and short-story writer; she did everything that the power of letters allowed her, and her creative capacity was not limited only to the barriers of writing, but she took the ingenuity of her work to politics, diplomacy, public life, and consolidated her legacy forever.
