Cristina López Barrio wins the Azorín Novel Prize

The lawyer and writer from Madrid, Cristina López Barrio, has been awarded the Azorín Novel Prize in its thirty-first edition with the novel “La tierra bajo tus pies”;

a novel that tells the story of a young girl who joins the village theater and travels to a remote village in Castile as part of a teaching mission to show the culture.

“La tierra bajo tus pies” is also the love story that the protagonist, Cati Skalo, will experience in that village with a country man, to which will be added an inside history of family sagas, quarrels and a debt of hatred and blood in which the young woman will be involved.

This is the first major prize awarded by Planeta which will launch this author, who in 2017 was a finalist for the Planeta Prize with “Niebla en Tánger,” and who, in 2019, published “Rómpete corazón” with the same publisher.
