'Los alemanes' by Sergio del Molino wins the 2024 Alfaguara Novel Prize

Sergio del Molino has won the XXVII Alfaguara Novel Prize, one of the most prestigious awards for unpublished novels in Spanish, for his work 'Los alemanes'.

The jury responsible for the award was made up of the writers Manuel Rivas, Rosa Montero, Sergio Ramírez, Juan José Millás and Laura Restrepo; and Pilar Reyes, Director of the publishing house, which this year celebrates its 60th anniversary.

The committee has highlighted the author for “his mastery of narrating a very little-known event in Spanish history related to the mutations of Nazism” and with deep consequences in today's world. 'It is an exciting novel that tests the conscience of the characters and shakes that of the reader,” they said.
