Librería Girón and its distributor promote books and reading in Spanish in Chicago and the US.

The iconic bookstore and its distributor Girón Spanish Books, continue in the market, right at the heart of the Pilsen neighborhood.

For Spanish reading lovers in Chicago, who thought they would be left without a physical place to buy their favorite book in their language, there is good news.

Many remember the Librería Girón that was on 18th Street and yes, that same one is now located at 2141 W. 21st St., in the heart of Pilsen, where its book distributor also operates. “We moved from 18th Street to 21st Street because we have the distributor here, so it became more practical for us to combine the two,” Juan Manuel Girón told La Raza.

Giron Spanish Books is a company mainly dedicated to the distribution of books to large bookstores such as Barnes & Noble. They also sell to Amazon and other platforms.

Its owner, Juan Manuel Girón, told La Raza that they have reinvented themselves and at the same time offer the best variety in book genres to the public.
