El Español interviews the writer María Dueñas

The author of 'El tiempo entre costuras' talks with magasIN about the profession of writing and machismo in the profession during the presentation of her children's story 'Cada Verano.”

The pen of María Dueñas (Puerto Llano, 1964) rose to stardom fourteen years ago when she gave life to Sira Quiroga, a character who has become part of the popular imagination of our country. But that of the dressmaker who stars in the already well-known “El tiempo entre costuras” (Planeta, 2009), is not the only life that she has shaped with her writing.

“Sira” (Planeta, 2021), “Las hijas del capitán” (Planeta, 2018), “La templanza” (Planeta, 2015) and “Misión Olvido” (Planeta, 2012) are already part of her bibliography and of the literature of our country. Now, with the help of the Inspiring Girls Foundation and the NGO Colorida, she is launching “Cada verano,” an unfinished story, which seeks to inspire the little ones to write their own ending.
