Alfaguara and Santillana will not change their editions of children books by Roald Dahl

Children’s books by the writer Roald Dahl, author of the emblematic 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Matilda', have modified some paragraphs "for the enjoyment of all kids"..

according to the English publisher, Puffin Books.  However, the Alfaguara publishing house, which has the Spanish-language copyrights, has stated that it will keep its editions "as they are."

This has been assured by sources from the publisher to Europa Press. "After conversations with the ‘Roald Dahl Society Company,’ Alfaguara Infantil y Juvenil will maintain its editions with the author's classic texts without modifying its publications in Spanish," they have indicated.

The Santillana publishing house, with over 40 years publishing the writer's books, has also transmitted to the British agents that they will not adapt the books to continue enjoying "good children and young adult literature."
