The writer Teresa Juvé publishes a new novel at the age of 101

The forerunner of Catalan literature, writer Teresa Juvé, has just published a new novel at the age of 101.

“Morts al peu del Reial Alcàsser,” which forms part of the noir genre saga starring Jaume Plagumà, a kind of governor from the 16th century who works in the court of the king. For the first time the protagonist of her series travels outside the Catalan realm, where he can only hold his royal position, to go to Madrid.

The new book, which has been published by Meteora, coincides with the closing of the Teresa Juvé Year, which the Generalitat has celebrated for the author's 100th anniversary.  She was born on February 7, 1921 in Madrid.  He father was Catalan and her mother was from Madrid.  She studied at the Institución Libre de Enseñanza and a few years later at the Institut-Escola Ausiàs March in Barcelona.
