Quality seal for Spanish libraries

CEDRO, the Spanish Center for Reprographic Rights, has recently granted a quality seal for libraries, which distinguishes centers that respect copyrights in the development of their activities.

This accreditation thus recognizes the commitment of libraries to culture and certifies their performance in compliance with article 37.2 of the Intellectual Property Law, which recognizes compensation to authors for the use of their works in the centers located in municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants.

Currently, there are already more than thirty administrations which have this seal, including autonomous communities, provincial councils, town councils and island councils from all over Spain, as well as the Ministry of Culture, which pay writers and translators.
