Paula Izquierdo wins the Logroño Award for the Novel, worth 45,000 euros

“The Madrid writer Paula Izquierdo has won the 10th Logroño Award for the Novel with the book El callejón de los silencios (Alley of Silence).

In the winning novel, which is a psychological mystery, the characters, two Psychology students taking PhDs and a professor are not what they seem. Paula Izquierdo (Madrid, 1962), a psychologist who has dedicated her life to literature, writing fiction, non-fiction and translation for the past fifteen years, is the first woman to win the prize, previous winners of which include Manuel Rico, Luis del Val, Jesús Ferrero, Martin Casariego and Montero Glez.

The book will be published next year by Algaida, imprint of Grupo Anaya.”
