The chairman of FICOMIC and the Gremio de Editores de Cataluña, Patrici Tixis, emphasized such growth and explained that the Salón goes beyond manga, as it showcases a significant representation of Japanese culture.

He also reminded that one of the central themes this year will be Japanese literature, with the presence of the acclaimed authors Mitsuyo Kakuta and Banana Yoshimoto, thanks to the collaboration with Fundación Japón.

The communication director of the sponsor Honda Motor España, Albert Cavero, wanted to stress the importance for his company of "supporting any and all expressions related to Japanese culture". The main sponsor of the event is Nintendo and, in fact, the image of their videogame YO-KAI WATCH pervades the whole Salón. Likewise, the Deputy Consul General of Japan in Barcelona, Akiko Sagano, highlighted the importance of pop culture, manga and anime as a window to Japanese culture and society, and thanked the organizing committee of the Salón for contributing to their popularization.
