Octavio Escobar wins the National Prize for the Novel with Después y antes de Dios (Before and After God)

“The book was described by the jury as “the raw tale of a conservative, prudish society faced with a terrible crime that exposes its flaws.”

The National Prize for the Novel is awarded by the Ministry of Culture following a public call for entries and is aimed at “recognizing the excellence of literary creation in the country.” For this reason, Escobar Giraldo will also receive a stimulus of “60 million pesos” (around €18,000), the Ministry of Culture announced.”
