The Argentinian Maria Cristina Ramos receives the XII SM Iberoamerican Prize for Children's Literature

The award ceremony will take place on November 29 in the framework of the Guadalajara International Book Fair.

Guadalajara, Jalisco, 5 September 2016.- For "her contribution to literature and for an authentic and sensitive look of Latin American reality" and to consider "the care in building her texts and her deep respect for the reader, its characters and recreating reality ", the jury of the twelfth edition of the SM Iberoamerican Award for Children's Literature decreed unanimously to Argentinian writer Maria Cristina Ramos as the winner.

The award ceremony will take place on 29 November, on the 30th Guadalajara International Book Fair.

Ramos, who along with this great recognition will receive $ 30,000, is one of the most outstanding representatives of children's literature in Argentina. In her works she offers her aesthetic proposal which moves the reader and enriches its sensitivity, expressing her commitment to literature as a way of illuminating some painful aspects of the human condition.
