Spanish writer Juan Marse recognized with Liber's Literary award

During the celebration of Spain's renowned international book fair, the Catalan writer will be honored with he Liber Literary Award on October 13th.

Juan Marsé, a fiction writer from the so-called "Generation of the 50", will be recognized at the Liber International Book Fair for his "literary path with universal projection linked to his roots to Barcelona".

The author of iconic titles such as "Si te dicen que caí" (If they tell you I fell), will receive the Liber award at Catalunya's National Art Museum as proposed by Spain's Federation of Spanish Publishers  due to Marse's "extensive and prolific" career. 

Considered the author with the best ability to create a portrait of post-war Barcelona, as well as one of the most influential writers of the Spanish language narrative of the second part of the 20th century, Juan Marsé (Cervantes Literary Award, 2008), was born in the city of Condal in 1933. His mother died when giving birth to him, which is what he was adopted by the Marsé Carbó family. 

His works have been translated to different languages and some of his books have become films by famous directors such as Vicente Aranda or Fernando Trueba.

Liber's International Book Fair will take place in Barcelona from October 12th to the 14th at the Gran Via de Fira venue in Barcelona, Spain. More than 300 exhibitors will be present.
