The Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publisher of the Year, which is the equivalent to an Oscar in the world of cinema, has been bestowed on their Libros para mañana (Books for Tomorrow) collection. "This marks the fourth time that Media Vaca is awarded the first prize at the Bologna Fair. They had received it before for El señor Korbes y otros cuentos de Grimm (Mr. Korbes and Other Grimm Tales, Best Fiction Prize, 2002); Una temporada en Calcuta (A Season in Calcutta, Best Non Fiction Prize, 2002); and Robinson Crusoe (Best Fiction Prize, 2009). Although it is not common, this is not the first time that the award goes to a collection instead of a particular book,” points out a statement by the small publishing house, which have created a space for themselves thanks to the quality of their illustrations and the careful selection of their texts, which are not always directed solely to children and young adults.
