Twin Falls, Idaho library expands Spanish language collection.

The library now offers nearly 300 new fiction and nonfiction Spanish language and bilingual titles, staff announced Monday. Twin Falls’ population is about 13 percent Hispanic and the library has seen an increase in requests for materials in Spanish.

“As part of the library’s long range strategic plan, we’ve made a goal to identify underserved populations within our community and provide new materials and services for them,” library director Tara Bartley said in a statement. “Adding these items helps the library’s collection reflect our community.”

Newly-added materials include popular new fiction materials like Pulitzer Prize-winning “All the Light We Cannot See/La Luz Que no Puedes Ver,” by Idaho author Anthony Doerr and classics such as “Little Women/Mujercitas,” by Louisa May Alcott.

Nonfiction titles include “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl/El Diario de Ana Frank,” and “Rich Dad, Poor Dad/Padre Rico, Padre Pobre,” by Robert Kiyosaki.

Adult service librarians will be surveying patrons for suggestions of future titles.
