Jordi Fibla receives recognition from Spain's cultural authorities for his work as translator.

Fibla has translated books by iconic writers such as Saul Bellow, Nadine Gordimer, John Irving, Henry James, William Kennedy, John Kennedy Toole, Rudyard Kipling, D. H. Lawrence, David Malouf, and Arthur Miller.

Spain's Ministry of Culture has awarded Fibla with a 20,000 Euros award in recognition to his important contributions to literature by translating more than 300 works in English to Spanish. He downplayed the honor by saying that only 100 of his translations are "good" works.

Fibla's favorite writer is Philip Roth, he has translated 19 of his titles.
