New Caney library in Texas celebrates addition of Spanish and bilingual book titles.

In 2015, 34 libraries throughout the state of Texas received the Texas Book Festival Collections
Enhancement Grant. The R.B. Tullis Branch Library in New Caney was among the grant recipients.

"The purpose of the grant is to support local libraries by allowing them to replace older books and add new books to their collections. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, staff members at the R.B. Tullis Branch Library hosted a celebration, playfully named the ‘Dia de los Libros’ celebration."

"Throughout the celebratory event, staff members served cookies and treats to library patrons as they were invited to browse the new collection of Spanish and bilingual books and reading materials, all purchased with the grant funds."

"We are very excited,” said Branch Manager Lynn Alayon. “It’s so nice to have fresh books on the shelves and it’s nice to have something new to offer the kids.”
