Spanish version of America's Toothfairy program launched by the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation.

America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation announced the launch of El Club de los Niños—the Spanish-language version of its America’s ToothFairy Kids Club. El Club de los Niños is an online program that provides monthly personalized letters from the ToothFairy as well as tips, activities, recipes, songs, and more for teaching and reinforcing positive oral health behaviors for children ages 3-12 and their caregivers.

In addition to regular communications, club members will also participate in contests, giveaways and other promotions that further build awareness of the importance of a healthy smile. A monthly “Parents Corner” offers practical tips and strategies for encouraging healthy habits at home.

Positive oral health routines are vitally important for a child’s long-term health and well-being. Decay in baby teeth can cause mouth pain, affect jaw development and limit a child’s ability to speak, chew and sleep properly. Severe tooth decay can also result in dangerous infections, misalignment of permanent teeth, low self-esteem, lost school time and limited employment potential.

Recognizing that Latino children experience higher rates of untreated dental disease than other U.S. children, America’s ToothFairy partners with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation and other national and regional partners to expand access to care and education among at-risk, Spanish-speaking children and families.

“We are so pleased that El Club de los Niños will help a new population of young children and their families establish positive oral health behaviors and improve their overall health and wellness,” said Fern Ingber, America’s ToothFairy President and CEO. “We invite all interested families to register today to ensure their children have the building blocks they need for a lifetime of healthy smiles.”
