A few days ago, a video went viral showing a man hitting three drunken men violently with a large book. Further information has shown that this was a performed hoax order to promote literacy.

Malpaso publisher came up with an original plan to promote reading habits during the summer. “Not reading during the summer is a crime!” is the title of this campaign to invite people in Spain to spend more time reading; especially as the summer vacations are around the corner.

The publisher has used other controversial strategies to boost this campaign, such as crashing a Mini car against the façade of a bookstore and have the driver steal books.
