The organization has launched the Instituto Cervantes de Harvard to study the evolution of Spanish language in the United States.

The Instituto Cervantes held a summit in Compostela, attended by Queen Letizia of Spain, to announce efforts to strengthen use of Spanish language in the United States as strategy to position the language as one of the most important ones worldwide.
