Bilingual Storytellers to Present Program in Livermore, California.

The Livermore Public Library will present Cascada de Flores bilingual storytellers on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:30pm at the Rincon Branch Library, located at 725 Rincon Ave., Livermore. Cascada de Flores is one of a variety of free performances offered during the library’s 2015 Summer Reading Program.

“The Tree and the Donkey Who Loved to Sing,” a bilingual and participatory story, features the song, ancient musical instruments, poly-rhythms and sweet characters of Mexican music and dance. In this bilingual family program, viewers will meet the donkey and its jawbone, the abuelito and the vulture, the owl and the iguana, and the instruments that come from the tree. Children and their families are invited to sing, dance and play to the beautiful traditional songs and dances.

This free performance, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will be held outside, with the audience to be seated on tarps. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for best parking and viewing opportunities and to bring appropriate sun gear. Summer Reading Programs are geared toward children ages 4 and older.
