LIBER 2015 Program ready for book professionals

The upcoming 2015 LIBER Spain's Book Fair will take place in Madrid's IFEMA from Oct.7th, to Oct.9th.

IFEMA is once again organising LIBER, the International Book Fair, which will be celebrating its 33rd edition on 7-9 October in Hall 14.1 at Feria de Madrid. The Fair, promoted by the FGEE (Federation of the Publishers’ Association of Spain), will present a renewed event adapted to the needs of the industry, capable of providing business opportunities to the main publishing houses.

Consolidated as the largest showcase for books in the Spanish language and the main business and professional exchange centre for this industry, it is open to all book-related sectors, with special emphasis on digital content, new publishers, self-publishing and literary agents.

More than 10,000 visitors and 450 exhibitors will be presenting their main developments at LIBER 2015, with a highlight being the presence of Saudi Arabia as Guest of Honor. A broad cultural programme featuring the participation of numerous authors and publishers will show the dynamism of this publishing market's culture and literature.

Along with the offerings from the large publishing houses, LIBER will also be hosting an interesting parallel programme of professional activities, bringing together personalities from the publishing sector and providing an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on the most topical issues. The programme will also feature various round table sessions involving well-known publishers and writers, with a special space for the current publishing and literary scene in Saudi Arabia.

For three intense days LIBER will bring together publishers, authors, literary agents, booksellers, distributors and other industry professionals. In this sense, the FGEE (Federation of the Publishers’ Associations of Spain) and IFEMA will be launching the Buyers Programme dedicated to booksellers and distributors, which will bring together around 500 buyers from over 70 countries as well as the Top Trend Setters, aimed at 100 trend setters in the world of Spanish books (personalities from institutions -universities, libraries, public agencies - who are in a position to determine, recommend and buy Spanish books).

LIBER 2015 will also spread into the city with LIBERATURA: lectures, readings and events open to the public, which are to be held at bookshops, libraries and landmarks around Madrid, and on social networks using the Twitter account @feriaLIBER.
