Ismael Cala and Amazon announce Second Literary Contest of Indie Authors in Spanish

Ismael Cala and Amazon announce the Second Literary Contest of Indie Authors in Spanish. Through this initiative, independent authors can publish their unpublished works on the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform.

Ismael Cala, anchor on CNN en Espanol, inspirational author and lecturer will be the contest ambassador.

From July 1st to August 31st, authors will be able to upload their works onto the Amazon KDP (https://kdp.amazon.com) platform; they will have control over the entire publishing process, from designing the cover to setting the price.  They will even be able make a printed copy available to their readers using Createspace (www.createspace.com).

Books will be assessed based on their creativity, originality and the quality of the writing, and five finalists will be chosen. The winner will then be selected, who will have the opportunity to be published in a print edition by the publishing house La Esfera de los Libros, and to be translated and published in digital, print and audio format in English by AmazonCrossing, the Amazon Publishing label.

"I am delighted to work with Amazon to extend the reach of authors and books in Spanish in the U.S. and Latin America.  I have interviewed hundreds of authors on the CALA program, on CNN en Espanol, and I am committed to the written word in all its formats," said Ismael Cala.

Pedro Huerta, director of Kindle Content in Spanish for Amazon, commented that "KDP was created to help authors find their audience, and for readers to discover their new favorite books."
