23% of the books published in Spain are acquired as eBook formats

Digital content production grows 8% in 2014 reaching 80.26 million Euros compared to hard-copy sales which dips 9.7%

Additionally, readers of e-books tend to increase the number of titles they like to read. According to a report on book markets in Spain by consultancy firm Mintel, this trend has to do with lower prices on digital contents compared to their traditional format counterparts and to the possibility of accessing multiple contents through the same device.

According a report by Spain’s Federation of Publishing Guilds (Federación de Gremios de Editores de España), “Assessment on Book Commerce”, book sales have seen a decline of 19% in the last decade due to the proliferation of tablets, smartphones and apps.
