Utah's East Elementary begins third year of bilingual education

East Elementary School, part of Iron County School District offers a dual immersion program for Spanish and English. Launched in fall of 2012, the program started with two first grade classes of about 30 students each attending a half-day of instruction in Spanish and the other half day in English.

“As those two classes have advanced each year, East Elementary has added another Spanish and English teaching team to take the students to the next level. The students who originally entered the dual immersion program two years ago are now entering third grade.”
