2014 Best Translated Book Awards are announced

László Krasznahorkai was awarded the 2014 Best Translated Book Award for fiction for “Seiobo There Below,” translated from the Hungarian by Ottilie Mulzet. One of the two runners up for the fiction award was “The African Shore” by Guatemalan author Rodrigo Rey Rosa, translated from the Spanish by Jeffrey Gray.

“Launched in 2007 by the weblog Three Percent, the awards honor original works of international fiction in poetry published in the U.S. in the previous year. Each winning author and translator will receive a $5,000 cash prize, donated by Amazon.” Read more here.
