May 1st will start the submission period for the Paz Poetry Prize, a collaboration between Miami Dade College’s Center for Literature and Theatre and The National Poetry Series to promote Spanish poetry in the U.S. The deadline is June 15th.

“The prize will be awarded to a previously unpublished poetry book in Spanish by a poet living in the United States. Akashic Books will publish a bilingual edition of the book, and the author gets $2,000. This year’s judge is inaugural poet Richard Blanco.”
