Parent to lobby for program: Dual-language school is sought

Spanish teacher and world language coordinator Rebecca Schwerdtfeger approached her local school board during the public comment portion of its monthly meeting to propose the idea of starting a dual-language school in Columbia, Missouri.

Schwerdtfeger said she was sad her children couldn't continue their dual-language education when they moved to Columbia, but she hopes to change that for future CPS students. "I want to urge them to give serious consideration to providing an elementary dual-language option," she said.
