Amazon opens Kindle Store in Mexico

The Mexican Kindle store offers more than 2 million titles with 70,000 in Spanish, including authors like Carlos Fuentes, Gabriel García Marquez and Isabel Allende. Mexican consumers can buy eBooks through apps or on Kindle devices. Amazon has also expanded its self-publishing platform, Mediabistro reports.

“The vast majority of Mexicans do not have access to a bookstore in their town, so we’re happy to launch the Mexico Kindle Store today and bring a huge bookstore with over 2 million titles to anyone with an Internet connection,” stated Pedro Huerta, Director of Kindle Content, Latin America.
