The Spanish Ministry of Culture awards 331 municipal libraries in the 25th María Moliner Reading Promotion Campaign.

The Spanish Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), has awarded 331 prizes to public libraries in municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants,

as part of the 25th edition of the María Moliner Reading Promotion Campaign.

The aim is to recognize the best reading promotion projects aimed at the general public, especially groups that face difficulties in accessing reading, in any of the official languages of the respective autonomous community, with special attention to municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants.

Of the 562 municipalities throughout Spain that participated in this year's edition, 331 libraries have been awarded €2,777.77, and among them, the ten best projects will see the amount increased to up to €10,000. The prize will be used mainly for the purchase of books and/or periodicals by public libraries.
