will receive the Gold Medal for Cultural Merit from Barcelona, an award given by the Catalan city council to individuals who have made a significant contribution to cultural life.

Following the news, Marisol Schulz Manaut, who will receive the award during the first quarter of 2026, expressed her gratitude for the recognition and highlighted Barcelona's contribution to literature. There is an undeniable link between Barcelona and all Latin American literature that continues today. Barcelona is not only part of my emotional and cultural DNA, but also that of Mexico and Latin America, she said.
