The Board of Directors of the Union of Spanish University Publishers (UNE) has unanimously agreed to award the National Prize for the Promotion of University Publishing 2025, to Guillermo Escribano,
for his support of the Union of Spanish University Publishers and Ibero-American university publishing as a whole during his tenure as Director of Spanish in the World at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation.
In awarding this prize, the UNE Board of Directors highlighted that, although Ibero-American university publishers had been collaborating for two decades to share their work, challenges, and projects, the support of Guillermo Escribano as director of Spanish in the World had made it possible to formalize these relationships and link them to the present and future agenda of the Ibero-American space of knowledge and the promotion of Spanish in the community.
