The VI Mario Vargas Llosa Biennial announces the six finalists

Six novels are competing for the Mario Vargas Llosa Biennial Novel Prize, worth $100,000.

The jury, chaired by Juan Manuel Bonet, will announce the winner on October 25 at the Gran Teatro de Cáceres. The official program will be presented on October 4 with the participation of Álvaro Vargas Llosa.

The Vargas Llosa Chair has revealed the six authors who will compete for the Biennial Novel Prize, an award considered one of the most important in the Spanish-speaking world. The event is being held in Spain for the first time and brings together some of the most renowned and emerging voices in Spanish-language fiction.

The VI Biennial will be held in Extremadura from October 22 to 25, with Cáceres as the main venue and activities in Badajoz and Trujillo, thanks to the support of the Regional Government of Extremadura.
