‘El asesino de los caramelos de violeta’ is the first title featuring Lucio Garza, a forensic doctor—and amateur investigator—as well as the father of a large family in Madrid in the late 1960s.

Long but lighthearted in tone, it takes us on a journey through a bygone era (or not so bygone) and a Madrid that exudes nostalgia at every turn.

It is also a kind of unabashed tribute to ‘La gran familia,’ the famous 1962 Spanish film, which is mentioned and constantly recalled while reading. Its success among readers has led to a sequel.
