LIBER 2025 will pay tribute to África Ramírez for her commitment to the Valencian publishing sector

The former president of the Associació d'Editorials del Pais Valencià will receive the LIBER 2025 Tribute in recognition of her work at the helm of that institution.

Madrid, September 4, 2025.- The Board of Directors of the Spanish Federation of Publishers' Guilds (FGEE) has decided that LIBER 2025 will pay tribute to África Ramírez Olmos, editorial director of Balandra Edicions and former president of the Associació d'Editorials del País Valencià (AEPV). The LIBER Tribute will be held on October 8 at the Conde Duque Cultural Center in Madrid during the LIBER 2025 Awards ceremony. This event is part of the LIBER 2025 International Book Fair, which will take place from October 7 to 9 at IFEMA MADRID.

Through this recognition, LIBER wishes to highlight both her professional career and her firm commitment to promoting the book ecosystem in the Valencian Community, especially during critical situations such as the DANA (mud slides) that affected dozens of publishers in October 2024.

The same event will also see the presentation of the LIBER award for the best audiovisual adaptation of a literary work, which this year goes to the film ‘Pedro Páramo’; the LIBER award for the promotion of reading in the media, to the communicator and journalist Antonio Martínez Asensio; the ‘Boixareu Ginesta’ award for bookseller of the year, to the Serendipia bookshop in Ciudad Real; and the LIBER award for the promotion of reading to libraries opened to the public, will go to the Jaime Fuster library in Barcelona.  Also, the LIBER award will go to the most outstanding Ibero-American author, Rosa Montero.
