The Zaragoza-born writer David Lozano (1974) has been awarded the 29th Cervantes Chico Award 2025, one of the most prestigious awards of its kind in Spain, promoted by the City Council of Alcalá de Henares.
The jury, chaired by the Councilor for Education and Universities, Dolores López Bautista, and made up of prominent figures from the cultural, educational, and literary spheres (such as authors Begoña Oro, Santiago García-Clairac, and Pedro Mañas), awarded Lozano for his “great mastery of narrative, effective use of literary resources, construction of believable characters, and the lively pace of his stories.”
David Lozano has a degree in Law from the University of Zaragoza. He later furthered his studies with a master’s degree in communication and courses in Hispanic Philology. He began his professional career as a lawyer but soon combined his legal work with screenwriting for various Spanish production companies.
