Interview with poet Luisa Cámere Quiroz

Luisa Cámere Quiroz was born in Lima, Peru, on January 30, 1951.She is a distinguished teacher at the primary and early childhood education levels, a renowned writer and poet, and a committed international cultural manager.

In addition, she is a passionate expert in visual arts, and, in July 2024, she obtained the title of Literary Critic from the Peruvian Academy of Language. Cámere has participated as a judge in several international literary competitions.

Luisa Cámere joined the National Institute of Education (INIDE) as a primary school teacher, with visual arts as her second specialty. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in education from the National University of San Marcos. After graduating  she decided to travel to the United States, where she continued to pursue her passion for education.

She is certified as a Director of Early Childhood Education Programs. She began her career as a teacher, principal, and manager of six educational centers in the state of California, in Orange, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties.
