Spain's Minister of Culture announces the new State Public Library in Vigo.

The Spanish Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, today announced the construction of the future State Public Library in Vigo,

after reaching an agreement with the City Council of Vigo for the transfer of the land on which the building will be constructed. After formalizing the transfer, the Ministry will put the library construction project out to tender in 2026. The announcement, made today in Vigo, in addition to Ernest Urtasun, was attended by the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, and the Regional Minister of Culture of the Xunta de Galicia, José López Campos.

The plot, which has an area of about 6,000 square meters, located in Rúa Lalín, will house the library whose management will be transferred to the autonomous community. The investment will be covered by the budget of the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
