Grupo 62 has become the majority owner of Edicions del Periscopi, as announced by both entities through press releases.
Edicions del Periscopi has expressed that it begins “a new and exciting stage” in its publishing project with its incorporation to Grup 62. Their publisher, director and founder, Aniol Rafel, has stated that “it was the right moment to look for a strategic partner” that allows them to “evolve with solidity.”
Grup 62, the conglomerate of Catalan-language labels of the Planeta group, has celebrated the agreement with one of the labels that has had “the greatest impact on publishing in Catalan in recent years.” Both parties have assured that Edicions del Periscopi will maintain the current team, the editorial identity and the line that has defined them until now.
Edicions del Periscopi, led by Aniol Rafel and Marta Rubirola, was born in 2012 with a small structure, but it soon positioned itself at the forefront of the Catalan publishing market. Throughout the last decade it has become one of the reference labels of independent publishing in Catalonia, detached -until now- from the big groups.
