20 years ago, Luis Solano started with the idea of publishing foreign classics and debuted with two titles: ‘A la caza del amor,’ by Nancy Mitford and ‘En busca del barón Corvo’ by A. J. A. A. Symons.
Today he has 11 reeditions of the first and three of the second, and another 360 titles published. The list of successes of Libros del Asteroide has not stopped growing without losing that air of boutique label. From foreign classics to the Spanish Manuel Chaves Nogales, without forgetting contemporaries such as Rachel Cusk, Pedro Mairal and Maggie O'Farrell's Hamnet.
The appointment with Luis Solano (Santiago de Compostela, 53 years old) one morning at the end of June was at the Real Observatorio Astronómico de Madrid. He arrived from Zaragoza, where he had a meeting with readers at the Cálamo bookstore, and some of them have confessed that they have read more than 180 titles from his catalog.
