The International Festival "Estación de las Letras" and the magazine 'Camacuc', Spain's National Awards for the Promotion of Reading 2025.

The jury for the 2025 Spanish National Award for the Promotion of Reading has proposed this award to the International Festival 'Estación de las Letras' organized by the City Council of La Rinconada (Seville),

in the Reading Promotion Category, and to the Valencian magazine "Camacuc", for its work promoting reading in the media.

The jury nominated the festival for making books and reading a tool for social cohesion and the identity of a region. The International Festival 'Estación de las Letras' has broken with the usual dynamics of one-off events, thus becoming a unique example of popular culture, whose programming extends throughout the year."

Furthermore, the jury recognized that the festival is a macro-project that, from a rural perspective, has transformed La Rinconada into a 'fertile' space for culture and critical awareness, especially aimed at children and young adults. This project extends reading to any urban space with the permanent presence of contemporary authors. The festival transcends the Sevillian municipality, recovering democratic memory, particularly through the female authors of '27.
