El País lists the best children's books of June 2025

Two works by the renowned Cornelia Funke, animal researchers, a guide to avoid raising little earthlings, and a romance on ice, are mixed in this month's selection of booksellers.

As a child, Cornelia Funke dreamed of becoming an astronaut. She watched the moon-landing with her father and was fascinated by the Starship Enterprise series. Life, however, soon set her on another journey: every night she had to invent an adventure to entertain her brother.

Today, her stories fascinate millions of young people around the world, and the German author appears twice in this month's selection of the best books for children and young adults, made by booksellers from different autonomous communities. There are also unknown musical bands, a guide so that even the tiniest ones can disprove the earth-planners, moles and wolves that investigate, turtle beaches and romances that glide over the ice. A list for the same audience Cornelia Funke claims to address on her website: children who love literature, but also those who do not.
