The Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera and president of the FEMP, María José Pelayo, will be in charge of opening the meeting. The General Director of Books, Comics and Reading, María José Gálvez will be in charge of closing the meeting by analyzing the role of reading in democratic development.
Representatives from the Spanish Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs, the Andalusian Regional Government, the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Community of Madrid and ICEX will debate with publishers and other players in the book world on policies and programs to promote reading and on plans for the internationalization of the industry at the Encuentro de la Edición 2025 Meeting to be held at the Sherry Park Hotel in Jerez de la Frontera from July 1 to 3.
This Publishing Meeting is an event that, for some years now, has been part of the calendar of activities of the Spanish Federation of Publishers' Guilds (FGEE). It analyzes some of the concerns and challenges of the book world in Spain. If last year's edition addressed the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence in the sector, on this occasion the plans for the promotion of reading will be analyzed from the perspective of the Public Administrations, nationals as well as autonomous.
