Antonio Fernández del Amor, based in Murcia, has won the XXV Gerardo Diego International Award for Literary Research, for his essay 'Del Deus abconditus al Ser que es palabra.
El pensamiento religioso de José María Valverde en su poesía.'
The jury of the contest, composed of professionals from several universities in Spain, has selected this essay for its study of the 'singular and unique contribution of José María Valverde by managing to unite in his work the philosophical and poetic dimension to a very personal experience of the Catholic faith, which over the years was strengthened and purified to a consummate maturity'.
The decision was announced at the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid, with the attendance of Elena Diego, daughter of the poet, and Juan Cuesta Diego, grandson of the poet and vice president of the Foundation, as reported by the foundation in a press release
The winning work will be published by the publishing house Pre-Textos in 2026, coinciding with the centenary of Valverde's birth.
