An unpublished work of Julio Mariscal Montes is discovered and presented in Arcos

This past Monday Arcos de la Frontera witnessed a literary event of great importance with the presentation of a work never before published by Julio Mariscal Montes, ...

an illustrious poet and fundamental figure in the literature of the province. The event, charged with emotion and symbolism, took place in the historic Chapel of La Misericordia, where both poetry lovers and local cultural representatives gathered.

The recovered work is entitled ‘Pueblo’, a hitherto unpublished book that collects a careful selection of poems written by Mariscal during his stay as a teacher in Paterna de la Rivera. The poet dedicated almost ten years to teaching in this town, a decisive stage in his life and source of inspiration for the verses that now see the light. This collection of poems works as a sincere tribute to daily life, the streets and the neighbors of a place that left a deep mark on the author.
